Is this related to the question? I don't use any of the stuff listed. I don't want AI to write for me, or to steal works of fellow writers. I'd like it to make chores easier, to assist with health care (assist, not take over, not be a primary), and tasks like that.

ReplyDeleteI read about the em dash thing too. Someone ranted about how they love the em dash and they were not going to stop using it just because AI used it. It was really funny, and she ended it with several emoji, which I guess AI also does a lot of.
Using em dashes says you're a robot sounds kind of odd but then again, I find anything to do with AI seems odd.

ReplyDeleteCrap, my books all have em-dashes in them. My publisher's editor requested them instead of a normal hyphen as a dash. Guess I'm a fake!
Just adding my 'happy birthday' with hopes you did have a very special day! And a good year to come. Now, those quotes about AI and the em-dashes were fun to read. Guess I'm guilty too -- some thoughts just seem to go sideways and need that em-dash! And thank you for visiting my IWSG post!
