My theme is a month of prompts and ideas for tabletop role-playing games or prompts for fantasy writers.
For this campaign, the players are living in the time of a terrible ruler. The ruler has oppressed everyone, has killed any who openly oppose the new laws, has outlawed several races, sold a species into slavery as part of a trafficking network owned partly by the ruler, destroyed education for children, has cut off most communication, and has secretly teamed up with a wizard to create a plague upon the land to reduce the population.
The adventurers have to decide what they'll do. Try to kill the ruler? Take out the wizard? Help victims of slavery trafficking get free? Restore communication? What if one or more adventurer is from the outlawed race?
Plenty of fires to put out in this campaign. The big question is, how will the Game Master keep the players from quitting? Because part of this adventure is that it's hard. Really hard. And hope dies a little more with every roll. That's why the name of the campaign is:
Hope Died
The following is NOT part of the challenge.
This is my damn blog and I'll include whatever message I please. :
What do we want?!?
Healthcare for all. A guaranteed minimum amount of money for everyone here. Decent pay for the "life-sustaining essential workers" who survive the pandemic. A border patrol that doesn't follow a Nazi regime. An end to human trafficking. A leader who doesn't have a sexual assault record. Unions to make safer workplaces. A clean environment with real regulations so our food stops getting recalled. Clean water for the people of Flint, MI, and really everywhere. Protection for the rights of women and children. Addressing homelessness. A national minimum marriage age of 18 or 21, because marriage should require at least the same consent level as a legal contract or credit card. The best education for everyone in this country no matter what. A properly staffed government instead of firing people for positions that were obviously important and never freaking replacing them. Net neutrality! And the abolition of the Electoral College.
When do we want it?!?
Apparently 2024 or whatever. No rush. Let's see if any Americans are still alive in four more years.
I love your prompt. Too bad I can’t write fiction and certainly not fantasy.
ReplyDeleteAs for your wishes for 2024 or so, I agree completely. It’s so sad that really there’s no real choice in this election. I’m glad not to be from the United Stats in this respect.
Hmmm... I wonder where you got your inspiration for this one.....
